Texas Governor Rick Perry Helps Dedicate the Manor ISD New Tech High School

- Governor Rick Perry joined Manor ISD, the Manor Education Foundation, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and other District partners in dedicating the Manor New Tech High School today. The New Tech High School represents one of the proposed 35 schools scheduled to participate in the Texas Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (T-STEM) initiative.

Austin ISD Breaks Ground on New Elementary School in North East Austin named for Local Civil Rights Activist
June 26, 2006 -
Site work has started on the new Overton Elementary School in the Austin Independent School District. A formal groundbreaking ceremony was held on Saturday, June 24. The 84,000 SF school is designed by O'Connell Robertson & Associates architects and engineers, in association with local architects CasaBella Architects and Architecture+Plus. The school is being funded by AISD's "Apple at Work" 2004 Bond Program. [Full Story]

UT Austin Breaks Ground on the UFCU Disch-Falk Field Renovation/Expansion
June 6, 2006 -
With Head Coach Augie Garrido standing at home plate, the University of Texas at Austin broke ground on the UFCU Disch-Falk Field Renovation/Expansion Project in Austin. Changes to the ballpark as a result of this $18 million project will include a new facade, as well as renovated seating areas, press box, player development areas and public concourses and plazas. New High School

June 2, 2006 -
Jarrell Independent School District broke ground on Tuesday, May 30 for a new High School. The new school, which will be approximately 98,000 SF in size, will replace the 1916 Building that was the original Jarrell High School. Agencies Work Together to Provide State-of-the-art Care Through New Infectious Disease Hospital
May 18, 2006 -
The largest, new infectious disease facility in the United States in 50 years is currently in the planning stages for San Antonio. The new hospital will replace the State Tuberculosis Hospital located on South East Military Drive which opened in 1953.
O'Connell Robertson & Associates has been selected to design the new hospital for the Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID).
