Roberson Receives National Design Recognition for Two Educational
Projects

Robertson & Associates, Inc. received two design awards from
American School & University magazine, a publication recognizing
achievements and trends in education across the country. The Firm
received recognition for design of the Texas A&M University
Bright Football Complex and Academic Center in College Station,
Texas and the Temple College Health Sciences Center in Temple, Texas.
O'Connell Robertson provided architecture, engineering and interior
design services for both projects.

The Bright Football Complex and Academic Center is the largest academic
complex dedicated to student athletes in the country. Located at
South End Zone of Kyle Field, the Bright Complex enhances Aggie
athletic programs with a wide range of capabilities for the development
and enrichment of student athletes. The facility houses locker rooms,
a training room, meeting rooms, a players' lounge, coaches' offices,
Football Program Support offices and a state-of-the-art academic
center. This project was named an Outstanding Facility in the 2004
American School & University Architectural Portfolio.
The Temple College Health Sciences Center serves as a state of the
art teaching facility for future healthcare workers throughout central
Texas. The 28,500 SF facility supports the Emergency Medical Technology,
Respiratory Care Technology, Surgical Technology, andDental Hygiene
programs of the College which partners with theScott & White
Health System and other Temple-area healthcare providers for advanced
curriculum, and a life-like setting for courses.

ORA design team enabled us to meet our goal of providing a state-of-the-art
higher education learning environment to prepare healthcare workers
for careers in the medical and dental field in our region. Our new
Health Sciences Center accomplishes this with exciting interior
design and real world labs, all provided within our very tight budget
and schedule." said Wayne Criswell, Vice President of Temple
College.
The facility
includes multimedia classrooms, a respiratory care lab, a surgical
technology classroom, EMT task and testing rooms, and a public dental
hygiene clinic. The Health Sciences Center was recognized for Outstanding
Design in the American School & University 2004 Interiors
Showcase. The facility was also honored as a Project of Distinction
in the 2004 Education Design Showcase by College Planning &
Management, another leading higher education publication.
O'Connell Robertson is an Austin-based architectural/engineering
firm specializing in educational design. The Firm's other education
clients include the University of Texas, Austin ISD, and Round Rock

Texas since it was founded in Austin in 1950.
