Metroplex Hospital Tower Expansion
|
|
The
Metroplex Hospital Tower Expansion added three additional
floors totaling 52,000 SF to the existing medical/

services and includes a new 10-bed CCU and a 10-bed
Step-down Unit. Two floors are dedicated to medical/
surgical beds.

Metroplex Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center
|
|
This
new 25,000 SF Ambulatory Surgery Center combines innovative healthcare
planning and interior design to create an efficient, patient-friendly
experience. The natural, earth tone color palette of the limestone
flooring, carpet, granite column bases and wood veneer paneling
enhance the interior image and communicate quality professional
and progressive patient services.
The addition's
state-of-the-art operating rooms connect to the hospital's existing
surgical core, maximizing surgery infrastructure and personnel resources,
while cleanly separating inpatient and outpatient surgery cases.

building addition, sited adjacent to the main entrance of the Metroplex Adventist
Hospital in Killeen, includes a 17,500 SF cancer center on the first floor of
the building. The project represents a progressive joint venture between two healthcare
systems located 20 miles apart. Constructed by the Adventist Health System at
Metroplex Hospital, the facility is staffed and managed by Scott & White Hospital
of Temple.
The center includes
14 chemotherapy stations, a dual energy linear accelerator vault,
a simulator, 8 exam rooms, and patient education areas. The facility's
second and third floors contain physicians' offices supporting obstetrics,
ophthalmology, and orthopedics.

Georgetown Healthcare System
|
|
This
project is the major component of a facility masterplan initiated by the Georgetown
Healthcare System and completed by O'Connell Robertson in 1994. The 90,000 SF,
multi-story addition, doubled the existing area of the Georgetown Medical Center.
A comprehensive cancer treatment center, new outpatient surgery suites, and expansion
of the Women's Pavilion were included in the project. Site development included
200 additional parking spaces, a freestanding central physical plant, and the
preparation of site grading for a future medical office building.
The lower level of the expansion
includes a 12,000 SF cancer treatment center. Floors two through four contain
rehabilitation and physical therapy for inpatient and outpatient services; a tie
into the existing Women's Pavilion of the hospital and a new nursery, family waiting
area, and additional LDRPs; and shell space to accommodate future services.

Lillian Hudspeth Memorial Hospital and Wellness Center
|
|
The
renovation/expansion of Lillian
Hudspeth Memorial Hospital accommodated
the relocation of all acute care services out of the existing 60-year
old facility. This critical access hospital houses a new ER, ICT
Scan room, upgrade of 12 medical/surgical beds, and new main entrance.
A new, 7,500
SF, free-standing Wellness Center with swimming pool, exercise and
weight area and physical therapy component was added. The Wellness
Center is connected to the hospital by a conditioned corridor. Unique
interior patterns lead the user from the reception desk to the equipment
area where machine weights and freeweights are located. The physical
therapy area features therapy equipment, hot and cold tubs, and
private therapy tables and leads to the indoor heated pool.

Frio Regional Hospital
|
Frio Regional
Hospital is a new, 42,000 SF facility with 22 acute care beds and
comprehensive outpatient surgical and obstetric services. The facility
design incorporates a single point of entry for all non-emergency
services, facilitating access to highly utilized diagnostic, treatment
and lab services. The hospital was sited for maximum exposure from
a major interstate, providing excellent visibility and accessibility
for the facility.
Flexibility was a key component
in the design solution for this project. One centralized nurse station
services all acute care beds and LDRs with visual observation of
Nursery functions. The plan facilitates future expansion of all
major departments while maintaining an efficient circulation for
patients and staff.

Shannon Medical Center
|
This comprehensive
interior renovation expanded the existing Emergency Department at
Shannon Medical Center from 7,500 SF to 12,500 SF. The expansion
increased Emergency Department exam rooms from six to 15, while
maintaining six rooms in the minor emergency treatment area. One
trauma room was added with imaging capabilities and a dedicated
digital x-ray room was incorporated in the department. A centralized
nurse station with visual control over exam rooms was a key component
of the redesign. The patient registration and triage area was reorganized
to enhance processing efficiency and patient confidentiality.
The project
also provides the Emergency Department with numerous functional
improvements including: enhanced triage capabilities; state-of-the-art
trauma room; flexible patient treatment areas for various levels
of emergency care and trauma; treatment areas which can easily adapt
to changes in technology and equipment; and
an
interior environment that supports healing and reduces stress.

The Meadows at Coryell Memorial Hospital
|
This
45,100 SF, single story facility is the cornerstone of Coryell Memorial Hospital's
continuum of care. Providing 54 private suites and 18 semi-private suites, the
facility serves Alzheimer's as well as mainstream long term care needs for the
local community. The facility allows for the future construction of 30 additional
suites for a total of 120 beds.
The hospital's physicians
and health care specialists have direct access to residents, improving their efficiency
and responsiveness to residents' healthcare needs. Alternatively, the facility's
architecture and interior finishes provide the residents with a comfortable "residential"
environment.
